Alessandro Bossetti (1973) is a composer, saxophonist and sound artist and his works are focused on the musicality of spoken words and unusual aspects of spoken communication. Bosetti has also produced text-sound compositions featured in live performances, radio broadcastings and recordings for labels of experimental music. In his work he moves on the line between sound anthropology and composition often including translation and misunderstanding in the creative process. Field research and interviews often build the basis for his abstract compositions along with electro-acoustic and acoustic collages, relational strategies, trained and untrained instrumental practices, vocal explorations and digital manipulations. As a saxophonist he has developed an original instrumental language that incorporates extended techniques, noises, and a strong influence from electronic music. He has performed in all European countries, USA, and Japan. He lives and works between Berlin, Milano and Baltimore. Bosetti has lectured at Art Institute of Chicago, Mills College, University of Maryland, National Jiao-Tong University Taipei and California Institute of the Arts.
