
Branka Popovic
Biography
Branka Popovic, born in Belgrade (Serbia and Montenegro) in 1977. She graduated in both, musicology and composition at the University of Arts in Belgrade, where she studied composition with Zoran Eric. She received her Masters Degree in Composition from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (composition studies with Judith Bingham) where she is currently the Fellow in Composition. At the Summer Music Academy of Danube Countries (2002) she studied with Gyla Fekete and won the third composition prize, as the part of the master course, for trio Dream (I. S. o. F). Her music has recently been performed in London and Glasgow during the Birtwistle Festival, during the celebration of the 125th Guildhall School of Music and Drama Anniversary and at the Yamaha Brass Quintet Competition.
